Why this work matters

I do this work because I’ve seen what happens when people stop asking questions.

​

In complex systems, certainty can feel comforting, but it often closes down learning, silences voices, and makes change harder rather than easier. I’ve watched well-intentioned leaders and teams struggle not because they don’t care, but because the spaces around them don’t make it safe to think, speak, and learn together.​ My work exists to create those spaces.

​

I design, develop, and facilitate learning that supports safe cultures, improvement, and leadership helping people stay curious, make sense of complexity, and move forward with care and intention.

​

That work can take many forms: developing leaders, facilitating workshops and learning spaces, coaching and mentoring individuals, and working alongside teams and organisations to explore improvement challenges, problem-solve together, and make better use of data for learning and assurance.​ The focus is always the same - creating the conditions where people can think well, learn together, and take meaningful action.

How I Work 

I work alongside people rather than arriving with ready-made answer. My approach blends evidence, experience, reflection, and creativity to help leaders, teams, and organisations explore real challenges and learn together. I’m interested in what’s happening beneath the surface, the everyday behaviours, conversations, and decisions that quietly shape culture.

Psychologically safe and thoughtfully held
Whether in a room, a team meeting, or a one-to-one conversation, I create spaces where people feel able to think out loud, surface uncertainty, and speak honestly about what’s really happening.

Grounded in real work and lived experience
The focus is always on what’s happening in practice - real challenges, real data, real decisions - not hypothetical scenarios or abstract models.

Reflective, challenging, and supportive
I balance care with challenge: creating space to pause and reflect, while also asking the questions that help people see differently and move forward.

Shaped by curiosity rather than certainty
Whether facilitating learning, supporting improvement work, or coaching leaders, I work with questions rather than prescriptions, helping people make sense of complexity and find their own way through it.

 

I draw on a range of approaches depending on context, from dialogue and storytelling to creative, hands-on methods such as LEGO® Serious Play®, where play, creativity and storytelling help people explore complex ideas together. Where helpful, I also use evidence-based psychometric tools, including my certification in Hogan and MBTI®, to support self-awareness, reflection, and more effective collaboration, never to label or reduce people.

Leadership Development

Supporting leaders at all levels to lead with integrity, humility, and courage, particularly when navigating uncertainty, pressure, and change.

Learning and Design facilitation 

Designing and facilitating learning spaces that invite curiosity, reflection, and dialogue, helping people think together and learn from experience.

Safe Cultures and Speaking Up 

Working with teams and leaders to strengthen civility, trust, inclusion, and speak-up cultures. Creating the conditions for courageous conversations and everyday psychological safety.

Quality Improvement and Sense Making

Supporting teams to explore improvement challenges with care and curiosity, connecting data, stories, and lived experience to support learning, problem-solving, and assurance that makes sense locally.

Coaching, Mentoring and Reflection

Creating space for individual and collective reflection. Supporting people to pause, make sense of their leadership practice, and grow with intention.

Storytelling, Influence and Sharing Learning

Helping people use story, narrative, and communication to make sense of complexity, share learning, and influence change with clarity and compassion.

Curious Collaborators is led by me and is intentionally growing into a values-led ecosystem of people connected by curiosity, courage, and collaboration. Over time, this will take shape in two connected ways:

A trusted network of independent consultants and facilitators whose work I know, value, and endorse. Where helpful, I work alongside collaborators from the hub — bringing together complementary skills to support leadership, culture, and learning in thoughtful, coherent ways.​

The Curious Collaborators Community
A wider community of people who have taken part in my learning spaces — leaders, practitioners, and curious minds who continue to learn, reflect, and connect beyond individual programmes or sessions.

Both are being grown with care and intention. Right now, the work starts with me. Over time, it grows through shared learning, trusted collaboration, and relationships built in practice.
